The tank might be the problem.
Either the remote or the tank cant keep up with you, try switching from a remote. Antoher problem might be the reg, try cleaning it, there's instructions at smartparts.com
Another problem that might cause this is the firing piston or the bolt. I've heard about velocity drop offs because of a big blob of dow grease in the bolt. Check those internals. If all fails, call smartparts, they will assist you well.
