Broken Air Assist - Fix or Plug It up

Hello Shocker fans,

The screw/joint that connects to the body broke on my Shocker. I'm now debating what to do. Should I just save money and plug it up or should I try to get to get it fixed?

Does the air assist really make that big of a difference? Is it worth the $90 to get a new one (I don't even know if they sell the piece that broke)?

Right now I just plugged it up, but haven't gone out and played, so I don't know if all of a sudden I'll start chopping balls.
