This happened to me as well when I got my used S/F. Have you cleaned and lubed the reg as well? What does the gauge read when you air it up? It should be between 180-190.

I did all the above and balls would either misfire or squirt out of the barrel. What I ended up doing is replacing the bolt with a delrin 2 bolt and my shocker has worked like a dream since. Let me know if these work.
