both are low pressure guns, and both run fine on CO2 and HPA. the differences are the SHOCKER is a closed bolt gun-some say closed bolt is more accurate like the cockers. shockers come with an all american barrel and impulses come with a progressive. the shocker barrel IS better. a shocker will NEVER break paint. maybe one ball in 50 cases. if you get a vision eye version impulse it shouldnt break paint ever. but a shocker doesnt even need that feature. shockers are a tad more heavy than an impulse but the brand new shockers are way lighter than old shockers. oh and shockers are BIG GAS HOGS. if you use HPA on a shocker you need a 88/4500 tank or a 114/3000 tank. anything smaller than that is too small.shockers suck gas. shockers are said by some to be THE most accurate gun with some high end cockers to be as accurate. but thats open to debate. impulses shoot a tad faster. so shockers are back players guns long ranged accurate and never break balls a little bigger gun than the impulse. impulses are front player guns. smaller compact and a tad faster but better get a vision eye version.
