Did you get hit in the reg everytime? Are you sure switching to a vert will solve the problem, you will still have the same bulk on the gun, just in a slightly different spot, and I do mean slightly. I'm pretty sure that there is only one model of vert reg. Contact Smart Parts, they make a kit that converts the tank reg to a vert. Hope it helps.
