Charles Gaines, one of the three creators of Paintball, (formerly known as The National Survival Game) will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award while addressing attendees of the Industry Conference July 22nd. Mr. Gaines, noted author of Pumping Iron, Stay Hungry, Survival Games and A Family Place, will be writing a feature story for Sports Illustrated and is looking forward to playing and interviewing throughout the week.

“I haven’t played or been involved in Paintball for over 20 years,” says Gaines, “but I’m looking forward to playing and getting involved in the present day incarnation of a fabulous game we dreamed-up years ago.”

Debra Dion Krischke of Team Effort Events further added, “This article will be about the sport of paintball and how it has evolved over the past 22 years into a professional sport as well as gaining the prestigious rank of 3rd extreme sport in the world in terms of popularity. The sport is much bigger than one company, one league or one event, but we are thrilled that the IAO can be the springboard for this invaluable public relations story.”
