IALEI NAMES CHUCK HENDSCH TO BOARD NPPLPresident of NPPL to take spot vacated by SC Village and Hollywood Sports Park owner Dennis Bukowski
IALEI Names Chuck Hendsch to Board to Fill Position Vacated by Dennis
Bukowski
Chuck Hendsch, President of the National Professional Paintball League (NPPL) has been named to the International Association for the Leisure and Entertainment Industry (IALEI) Board of Directors. Hendsch replaces Dennis Bukowski of Hollywood Sports who resigned his board position because of business priorities.
“Chuck is a great fit for this position,” Bukowski said. “I know he’ll do a superb job of continuing the work my partner Giovanni and I began in developing action sports through IALEI and FUN EXPO.”
“We are pleased to have a person of Chuck’s caliber fill this position on our Board. He is uniquely qualified to continue the work so ably begun by Dennis to bring paintball and other action sports to family entertainment centers,” said IALEI President Laurien Henry.
Chuck Hendsch started his Paintball career at age 17 in 1984. His soccer coach, who opened the first paintball field in the Santa Cruz Mountains of Northern California, asked Chuck if he wanted a job as a referee at the paintball field. Since then Chuck has never looked back. At age 20 he owned a paintball store and field in northern California. He then graduated from the University of San Jose State with a degree in Business Administration with emphasis on marketing, minor in recreation and leisure studies.
After graduation he sold his store and field and took a position for five years with RP Scherer, a major pharmaceutical company based in St Petersburg, Florida. RP Scherer is world renown for manufacturing quality paintballs. Chuck has promoted the sport of paintball worldwide for the past 20 years playing on championship tournament teams (Black Diamonds, Rage, All Americans, Ironmen, and most recently Team Dynasty).
He has designed and marketed paintball products worldwide, and sponsored paintball tournaments and seminars. After RPS Chuck worked for JT USA and then National Paintball Supply. He was vice president of the NPPL for 5 years and became President of the National Professional Paintball League (NPPL) three years ago. Today Chuck works full time for the NPPL and he promotes a world-class paintball series The NPPL Super 7 World Series.
As the action sports representative on the IALEI Board, Chuck will also chair the Action Sports Committee. He attended his first Board meeting November 16 in Orlando and has already developed plans to move action sports ahead both in IALEI and at FUN EXPO.
“I’m excited to have this opportunity to further action sports in mainstream entertainment facilities. Action sports operators can learn a lot from IALEI and IALEI can benefit by understanding and implementing action sports into their attractions mix,” Chuck said.
