PAINTBALL UNITED PARK, FIRST PAINTBALL PARK IN NEGERI SEMBILAN AND LATEST SPORTS-CUM-TOURIST ATTRACTION OPENS IN PORT DICKSON

Paintball set to attract sports enthusiasts and holiday-makers to the seaside resort of Port Dickson!

The allure and charm of the seaside resort of Port Dickson has become even more attractive through the official launch of Bumiball Sdn Bhd’s paintball facilities, acclaimed as the first and only such sporting facility in the state of Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus and possibly for the Southern region of the Peninsula.

The Paintball United Park, located at the Eagle Ranch Resort, 14th Mile Jalan Pantai, Port Dickson, was officiated by the DYMM Tuanku Ja’afar ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Yang Dipertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan. Also gracing the event were DYMM Tunku Najihah binti Almarhum Tunku Besar Burhanuddin, Tunku Ampuan Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus, YAM Tunku Naquiyuddin ibni Tuanku Ja’afar together with some 120 specially invited guests.

Informed Yang Mulia Tunku Mohamed Alauddin Tunku Naquiyuddin, the Executive Director of Bumiball Sdn Bhd, “The emerging popularity of extreme sports in Malaysia has seen the mushrooming of dedicated centres offering these adrenaline-pumping activities at strategic locations. Paintball is one sport that has gained immense popularity over these past twenty over years, with its first ever game being played in 1983.

“This inventive sport involves participants using compressed-gas powered markers to shoot paintballs, which are marble-sized capsules filled with non-toxic, vegetable-based dyes, at the other players and teams.
“Our goal is to build an excellent base of local paintball players and superior-class field facilities within the country, thereon unite all paintball players and paintball fields throughout the world. Hence the choice of Paintball United’s tagline that states ‘Now everyone can play’. We want to offer this intense, action-filled sport to anyone and everyone, “ added Tunku Mohamed Alauddin.

Paintball United is owned by Bumiball Sdn Bhd, whose founders include Tunku Mohamed Alauddin and Matthew Nekvapil. The shareholders of Bumiball Sdn Bhd also include H&N Holdings, which is associated with the Antah Group.

Comprising four different playing fields and being the first ever paintball facility in Malaysia to offer paint pistols, the park offers players many choices, for instance up to 20 players can participate in a game at anyone time, and with state of the art, brand new equipment, this only enhances the playing experience.

The new facility stands to attract visitors from far and near, not only from Port Dickson or its surrounding towns, but also as far as those from Southern Selangor, Melaka, Johor and even Singapore. Moreover, by being located within a sports paradise such as Eagle Ranch Resort which already offers other adventure-related sports, the park is expected to enjoy good response, particularly so during the school holidays and festive seasons.

Tourism has been identified as one of the three main economic sectors to be given extra emphasis by the Negeri Sembilan State Government come next year, and with Port Dickson being identified one of the main contributors. Last year alone, a staggering 60.6 per cent of tourist arrivals to Malaysia were Singaporeans, visiting Malaysia’s vast array of attractions, particularly those located along the south-western coasts of the peninsula.

“Paintball has much potential to grow and contribute towards key sectors in tourism and sports. We want to explore various opportunities to work with different authorities and train local players to represent the state and eventually, participate at international tournaments to promote our beautiful country Malaysia.

“Paintball United’s Park will definitely draw in local, interstate and possibly international sports enthusiasts and holiday-makers to Port Dickson. The corporate sector, for example, presents a lucrative market of opportunities as it constantly seeks out creative means and venues for team-building exercises and company trips that offer a unique and memorable experience.

“We aim to garner a huge paintball following across the nation and who knows, even make Port Dickson the ‘hub for paintball activities’. Port Dickson can be packaged as a choice venue for weekend paintball tournaments, as it has so many choice hotels and facilities to cater to travellers and sports enthusiasts,” said Tunku Mohamed Alauddin.

Paintball is a billion dollar industry in the USA and Europe, although it is still in its infancy within Malaysia. Currently, only seven licensed operators operate in the country due to the strict firearms laws and proper licensing of equipment that govern the setting up and running of such paintball fields.

“At this park, safety and security are of paramount importance; we make sure players always wear their masks and have their barrel socks on the markers when not playing. Our personnel are highly trained to run and manage facilities pertinent to the game, and are trained to referee games with observance and implementation of safety regulations as the number one priority.

“We believe that our onward success stems from the basic foundation of our business offerings; a combination of exceptional customer service, excellent product selection, awesome playing experience and fair prices will always bring a customer back.

“Last but not least, this partnership with Eagle Ranch Resort is an important cross-marketing synergy and we hope to grow together with them,” concluded Tunku Mohamed Alauddin.

Corporate sponsors include Permanis, the Antah Group of Companies, Tippmann, SmartParts, Reball and Planet Eclipse who participated in the official launch of the Paintball United Park.

The Eagle Ranch Resort, located a mere 30 minutes from Seremban town, is a sprawling rugged 16-acre park that offers different types of accommodation together with a wide choice of outdoor games and healthy activities ranging from horse-riding, go kart, archery, swimming, basketball, volleyball, darts, chip & putt, canoeing, rafting, trekking, water polo and pool tables. It creates a holistic family and corporate retreat destination amidst horse trails and seaside charm.
