WARPIG.COM VIRTUAL FIELD WALKS
Corinthian Media Services

Virtual reality technology allows players and fans to walk a paintball field before it is built.

Palm Bay, FL- October 25, 2006 – The Word And Regional Paintball Information Guide - WARPIG.com releases online Virtual Field Walks.

“Over the past season we have been publishing 3D views and animations of major field layouts in order to give players and fans a more complete way to visualize tournament fields before the action starts,” says Bill Mills, Technical Editor of WARPIG.com. “We realized how important field layouts were back in 2001 when we were publishing layout photos online before a tournament started, and pro coaches like Daryl Trent with the All Americans were using them to map out their strategies. This is just the next logical step.”

By combining 3D illustration with realtime first person rendering technology, the new WARPIG Virtual Field Walks allow the user to literally walk a field and look down the lanes before it is actually built at the tournament site.

After virtually walking the fields for this year's Paintball World Cup, pro team Portland Naughty Dogs (NaughtyDogs.US) captain, Rocky Knuth said, “As usual WARPIG.com has raised the bar for paintball technology. The virtual field walking can give us players a pre-look for possible angles and lanes.”

“I don't know how they did all this, but WARPIG.com hit a home run,” said Larry Motes, promoter of the Carolina Field Owner's Association tournament series (theCFOA.com.) “Our players are going to love being able to preview our 2007 field layouts through this technology.”

“We have been working towards this for a while now,” said WARPIG.com webmaster Dawn Mills. “From the beginning, we have been able to break new ground with WARPIG, from starting on-scene tournament reporting at a time when people used to wait months for results in print, through database driven international field directories, to webcasting full length paintball TV shows back in the mid 1990s. I am also excited about the impact we have been able to have with regional leagues in the US and South America where previously there was no option for 3D visualization of tournament fields. This year we opened that door and now we are walking through it to a whole new level for next season. That really fits with the by players for players philosophy on which WARPIG was founded.”

Five time consecutive NPPL Series (NPPL.tv) Champion Ryan Greenspan of San Diego Dynasty (DynastyPaintbal.com) commented, “This is a really great idea! I think that this will be huge for any team to be able to actually see each and every running and shooting lane. The technology is very creative and innovative. I like the fact that I can actually see where I would shoot from each part of the snake.”

The first of the WARPIG.com Virtual Field Walks can be viewed online at WARPIG.com, and represents the field layout that will be used at the Paintball Sports Promotions Paintball World Cup (PSPEvents.com) in Kissimmee, FL November 8th through 12th.
