SCOTLAND OPENS PRO STANDARD FIELD
Scotkart

The most advanced paintball arena in the UK is has opened near Glasgow in Scotland.

Called The Terminator, the site has been developed by a company called
Scotkart based at Cambuslang in the West of the country. It is the first
purpose built all weather, floodlit, Astroturf, speedball paintball arena in the United Kingdom.

The Terminator took six months to build and represents a £300,000 ($450,000) investment by the owners. Artificial grass was imported from Canada to match standards in North America and bunkers came from the same suppliers as the Millennium league. Players are supplied with Inferno markers.

The Scottish based team the Clan are currently using the site for training. Serious players are welcome to approach the owners about bringing their own gear.

Steve Bull, Chairman of the UK Paintball Sports Federation, said, “The
Terminator is a welcome additional to the paintball scene. We know it will
provide excellent facilities for Scottish players and hopefully it will also bring new people to the sport.”

Stewart Matthews, Managing Director of the site, said, “Adrenaline sports
are popular in Scotland. We opened the first indoor karting track in
Scotland here over 18 years ago and it is still going strong thanks to the
support of local people. I am sure tournament paintball will prove to be
just as popular.”

The Terminator will be open seven days a week, 10am to 10pm Prices start
from £15 and the pitch can be booked for private parties. All players
receive safety training, an inferno paintball marker, facemasks, team
shirts, goggles and optional body armour.

As the site develops, the owners are looking to host a local league and
training sessions for players looking to take the sport to the next level.
