MILITARY PAINTBALL LEAGUE

The first ever Military Paintball League tournament will take place at Sheppard Air Force Base TX on the 5th and 6th of November. Staff Sergeant Zane Hughes is organizing this non-profit league to give military paintball teams their own tournament series in which they can compete amongst themselves for large prize packages without having to spend an entire months pay. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Youth Sports Program with the remainder being donated to the bases different non profit private organizations.

This two-day inaugural event will kick off Saturday morning with a free youth clinic, which is open to all military dependents less than 17 years of age. The clinic will consist of teaching the rules and safety of paintball as well as some free time for play. Saturday afternoon the field will open for team practice. Use of the field and rental equipment will be free for all teams signed up to play in the main event on Sunday.

Sunday morning the Military Paintball League tournament begins. Army, Navy, Marine, and Air Force teams will compete for thousands of dollars in prizes and bragging rights for their respected branch. There is already some big talk from one of the Navy teams claiming the other services do not stand a chance. Here is your opportunity Army, Air Force, and Marines to prove you are the toughest.

The event will be play on an air ball field using a 5 man, center flag format, hopper ball only format. All teams will compete using the same equipment to eliminate anyone having an advantage as far as fire power is concerned. Teams will be broken down into brackets with each team guaranteed a minimum of 5 games. The preliminary winners will then play each other round robin to decide the ultimate champion. Trophies will be presented to teams finishing first through third and the top six teams will receive generous prize packages provided by:
Kingman, WPG, JT, Ricochet Development, Viewloader and several other prominent paintball companies.

Sponsors and prizes include:
Kingman: 5 Spyder Imagine Paintball Guns
5 Raven T-Shirts
150 Raven Lanyards
6 Spyder Banners
WPG: 5 Autococker Paintball Guns
Ricochet Development: 5 Apache LCD Motorized Loaders
JT: 5 JT FLEX 8 Full Coverage Goggles
Traumahead Sport: DVDs and T Shirts
PB Films: DVDs

Each of the companies listed above has shown their overwhelming support for American troops and the USA by choosing to sponsors this event. Being that this is the first military-only paintball event ever produced, many companies would be reluctant to donate so generously for fear of losing their investment. These companies however ignored dollar signs, expected nothing in return, and should all be commended for their patriotism.
