PSP NEW PLAYER CLASSIFICATION
PSP

Based on feedback from the players, PSP replaced the Open Division with Division 1 at the start of the 2008 Season. While any number of Professional class players were permitted on an Open roster, only two were permitted on a Division 1 roster. This change, coupled with the NXL restructuring from 16 teams to 12 teams, made it difficult to accommodate many top-level players within the current classification system.

Beginning with the 2008 Chicago Open, PSP will introduce a new player classification to accommodate players reclassified from the Professional Division as a result of the NXL restructuring. This new Semi-Professional classification will fall between Professional and Division 1.

Division 1 rosters may now include any combination of Semi-Pro, Division 1, or lower classification players and up to two (2) Pro players.

A Division 2 roster may include any combination of Division 2 or lower classification players and up to two (2) Division I players. No Semi-Pro players will be permitted on a Division 2 roster.

Please note that while players may now be classified as Semi-Professional, PSP will continue to offer the same divisions of play - NXL, Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3 XBall, and Division 2, Division 3 and Division 4 5-man XBall.

Players may submit requests to be considered for reclassification from Pro to Semi-Pro to Tim Schroepfer at tim@pspevents.com.
