Schwarzenegger backs T3 Scenario
By Bill Mills - June  2003

Very often scenario paintball games are themed very similar to a popular film or book, with a parody of the name, or even use the name and story of the film without permission of the studio which owns the rights to the name.  This is not so with the upcoming T3 Man vs Machine Terminator scenario game at Hollywood Sports Park.

In keeping with the Hollywood theme of the park, it’s creators Giovanni DeGidio and Dennis Bukowski are taking extreme sports, including paintball past simply giving them a Holywood theme, and into the Hollywood promotion machine.  Hollywood Sports park features BMX courses, skate ramps, rock climbing, beach vollyball, paintball and other extreme sports surrounded by original motion picture sets and props.  Some of the park's paintball fields, for example feature sections of sets used in films like Waterworld and Starship Troopers.  According to DeGidio part of the park’s business plan includes becoming a center for motion picture release and charity fund raiser parties where the extreme sports activities can add to the excitement of the event.

Such is the case of the T3 one-day scenario scheduled for June 28th, 2003.  The game is based on the upcoming third installment of the Terminator films.  Because of the promotional tie in with Warner Brothers film, part of the movie’s army of terminators and other authentic T3 props will be on site, as well as industrial motion picture fog machines and even a 3 watt YAG special effects laser, helping to make the game's fantasy feel like reality.  The scenario game's story will be based around participants rescuing “John Connor” from the TX, or Terminatrix, the villain of the new film.

The event is being held to raise money for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s charity, the Inner City Games Los Angeles.  Inner City games involves an estimated 500,000 children nation wide, and the Los Angeles games recently held their 10th anniversary at Hollywood Sports Park.  The game is also priced to maximize attendance, to increase support for the Inner City Games.  The entry fee is $25 with pre-registration and the field only paint is being sold for $49 per case – both prices one would associate with walk-on play rather than a special event.
