CLOWNS? JUGGLERS? LAUGH LEADERS?
FUN ACADEMY COMBINES LEARNING WITH LAUGHTER

With more than 40 Fun Academy sessions to choose from, plus IALEI's Opening General Session, there's bound to be some clowning around, juggling and lots of laughter to make learning fun at this year's Fun Expo, September 17-19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center! These are just a few of the special talents featured by members of this year's Fun Academy faculty that will help owners and operators that make learning fun.

Gail Howerton-Hahn, CEO (Chief Energizing Officer) of Fun*Cilitators, is the only person in the world holding all three Certifications of Parks & Recreation Professional Laugh Leader and Speaking Professional. A past presenter at Fun Expo, Gail returns to Fun Expo after a two-year absence, with her program entitled "Energize Your Marketing Efforts" on Tuesday, September 17 from 10:15 - 11:45 am. Known for her high-energy, high-content programs, this session will help participants take fresh look at their marketing plans. This session covers segment marketing, how to produce powerful publications and dynamic direct mailing, benefits-based marketing and top tips on internet marketing.

What happens when a Certified Laugh Leader teams up with a Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus Clown College graduate? You get Fun@Work with Gail Howerton and Neal Fehnel of Buskill Park. With over 20 years each in the leisure and recreation business, Neal and Gail share their insider secrets (plus a few surprises!) to help operators create "funonmial"™ frontlines and customer "elations" with engaging and interactive pointers that mix fun and effectiveness at work. This session takes place Tuesday afternoon, September 16, from 1:45 - 3:15 pm.

IALEI's Annual Meeting and Opening General Session features Rob Peck, a "literary juggler" whose special presentation "Left Brainers, Right Brainers and No Brainers" or "How To Cope With Constant Change… and Still Stay Sane!" offers fresh, fun-spirited ways to recharge our creative batteries, experience a renewed sense of connection with our colleagues and provide an enticing challenge to make shared laughter a daily right. Rob is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from the University of Pennsylvania, and recipient of the 1999 Excellence in Education Award from the International Jugglers Association. He has also been a featured guest on DONAHUE. This session will take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2003 from 8:00 am - 9:45 am and is open to all Fun Expo and AMOA Attendees.

The cost to attend Fun Academy is $149 for IALEI Members and $209 for non-members who register before August 22, 2003. After August 22, prices increase to $209 for members and $259 for non-members. Registration is available online at www.funexpo.com.

FUN EXPO exhibits open Wednesday, September 17 through Friday, September 19, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada. FUN EXPO is held in conjunction with the AMOA International Expo.
