The National Professional Paintball League began as a group of teams banding 
together to start their own league and has grown into a premier pro/am league in 
North America.  In 2003 the league switched from its previous 5 and 10 man formats
to the Super 7 Series 7 man tournament format with its tournaments produced by 
Pure Promotions, Inc., an off-shoot of WDP.
