Save your money. I have already tries that route and the amount of combersome work that is involved in trying to use one on the field is just not worth it. I had purchased an AVERAGE Night OWl NV unit. It works great out in the parking lot with goggles off and plenty of ambient light.
Goggles on and in the woods makes it near worthless. I love my eyes and teeth so I never took my goggles off to look through them on the field.
For the same money you can purchase almost 10 Q-beams, your squad can almost single handidly light old river at night!
or don't listen to me and get the silly things anyway.
Good Luck
