:
: By the time you get the ports small enough to keep the O rings intact one has volume problems again.

Which is why I designed my valve so the O-ring doesn't have to pass the port. I put the O ring in the end of my piston. Every time I shot the cannon, it blew the O ring out. So, I glued it in. Then, it still blew it out. So, I drilled my valve out to accept a 3/4" diameter by 3/4" long piece of rubber which I glued into place. Not only did it blow out, The pressure forced it through my 1/2" valve. (3 times).

: Now when I get my lathe, One of my First Project will be an oversized bore paintball valve and hammer. Why reinvent the wheel? We just need it to pass more volume...... Think a 1 inch internal bore paintball valve would shred a nerf rocket out of a 10 inch barrel?

I thought about that. How big of a spring will it take to open a 1" valve? I'm guessing you aren't man enough to cock it. ;) You may have to use an air valve to blow the hammer back. Then, I'll bet the thing will kick like a mule.
