It leaves room for more types of ammo

It doesnt have to use 20 oz bombs, im sure there is lighter stuff out there that people can use effectively. Just like your cannon has to be inspected by an air smith, they would want to look over the tank for the tank vs tank and mortar event, to be sure that it has a roof, and not lose nettng to stop paint, and to be sure that noone is using ammo that would be overkill, or above a certain velocity.

The event could even have two sides with the tanks disperesed evenly, and they could go at it. The tanks could try to work up a strategy and wipe out the other side, on some sort a giant semi open field. Or they could just go last tank standing, whatever tickles the promoters pickle.
