Yep. A shotgun primer can blow off a finger, put out an eye, castrate some poor slob, it's a firecracker on steroids with a directional firing pattern. Sounds so safe compared to a fully loaded shotgun round, but compared to paintball, it's not even close to being in the same league.

But .... if you want to make it work with a paintball, put lots of dead air between the primer and the paintball to absorb the shock wave and you might be able to launch a paintball without blowing it to smitherenes. Have fun! Be CAREFUL!
