: what does psi mean, whats the difference between 450 and 800 psi in a 68ci tank? which should i buy , they are the same price PSI stands for "Pounds per Square Inch".The difference between 450 and 800 is the output pressure of the tank.The 450psi is normally used for a Low Pressure Marker which would operate at about 200-250psi.Rule of thumb is to have your tank input pressure about 200psi higher than the operating pressure of your marker.The 800 also refers to the output pressure of the tank,this is the normal output of most fixed output tanks.I would recommend going with the 800psi because it will work on most markers(Even LP if you use a reg)and would also be a lot easier to sell if you wanted to get a low output tank.Hope this helps
