how do you degas a co2 remote

when you are removing the gas from a gun with a co2 remote, what is the proper way to do it without blowing the o-rings, etc. when it doesnt have the remote, you turn the tank 3/4 a turn and shoot until you cannot shoot anymore and then you unscrew. How do you do it with a remote?

and what is the quick disconnect and how do i use it?
