The slide check is the red part that is
farthest from the connection to the tank. The slide check allows you to air down the marker without unscrewing the knob that depresses the pin on your tank. This saves on co2 which would normally be lost.

The quick disconnect is a silver part just below the slide check. This part allows (after airing down) you to disconnect the marker from the remote line... to set it down or whatever.

You can get remotes with the quick disconnect, or with the quick disconnect and the slide check, I would recommend the latter. Not only is it easier to use, but saves wear and tear on the part with the red knob(refer to the image again) that connects to the tank.

It's too bad that the warpig message board does not allow picture attachments to postings, I made up a picture that better illustrates the parts.
