: I took my ACI Bulldog HPA tank (3k psi adjustable reg) in for hydrostat testing. it passed inspection and i got it filled. Unfortunatly the guys who tested it backed the regulator adjustment screw all the way out. The output was reading 1500 psi. I have not used the tank in over 3 years so I could not remember if you where supposed to tighten the screw or losten it to reduce preasure. Since on most regulators higher spring tension means higher preasure I tried lostening the nut. The preasure rose, so I tightened it, it rose again and burst the output 1800 psi disc, and I can only asume damaged my gauges and probably the reg. So far the only thing I can come up with is that the screw was backed out so far that it was not properly adjusting the regulator, any ideas? also can I assume that the regualtor is damaged? where can I find a replacement burst disk if it even is a burst disk and not a check valve? Apparently ACI no longer makes the Bulldog with adjustable output, is there anywhere I can obtain a manual for it with an exploded view of the parts? I think the moral of this story is be carful who you get to check your tank, and assume NOTHING! I know that ACI should have replacement parts for the burst disc. If you run into a dead end, get a reg swap with CrossFire. They are very good and their price is extreemly fair. Good Luck
