: : How do I go about becoming certified to fill hpa? About how much does it cost to get certified? : Unfortunately, there are no classes that 'certify' one to fill HPA cylinders. High pressure compressors and componants fall under various regulating bodies including DOT, ASME, UL, OSHA, etc. none of which require much of anything. This has attributed to many injuries and in some cases, death. Such was the case recently in Connecticut where a man died using equipment that he bought and installed himself. Two words... common sense. I personally used to work with high pressure air systems all the time on a submarine... the smartest thing to do is just use common sense. Don't rush things, and read any applicable operating instructions and you'll be ok |
