Air is 70% or so Nitrogen. The reason why we use air is because nitrogen is inert and doesn't react to pressure and temperature changes as easily as CO2. Nitrogen is 100% pure. Air has several different gases in it. If you're totally nuts about performance, go nitro. For everybody else though, compressed air does perfectly fine.
