I can certainly understand a shop owners reluctance to fill a carbon fiber wrapped CO2 tank. Many people do not realize that hydrotesting dates change for carbon fiber wrapped tanks. Instead of 3 years, you have 2(even if it's Luxfer, which normally gives you 5 years). When he said that your tank could collapse on you, well it could. The extreme cold of the CO2 causes the carbon fiber wrapping to shrink and compress the steel inner tank. I personally would go to air if your using a shocker. I switched from CO2 to air on my impulse and I won't go back.
