head hunter maybe do a little research before you post. did i say i was trying to substitute for a response trigger. actually i just want to replace the clippard valve that is already on my a-5 with response trigger with an clippard valve that has already been put on a custom 98. actually its not called a ball check but as clippard puts it a flow control meter. you want to get technical do your research. actual the part number that you need is MFC-3BK or MFC-3B. then you need to find 2 nuts and make it like the valve on the review page link below. http://www.warpig.com/paintball/technical/paintguns/m98custom/index.shtml i know how it works or i wouldnt bother trying to figure out how to replace it. actually that is supposed to make the response trigger tournament legal for NPPL tournaments and other major tourneys. i told the guys at my local field and he liked the idea and wants to get some for his field and store so he can require people to use them on his field so he can sell them if people have a R/T so tippy owners dont have an unfair advantage. ive dont my research an i hope some have learned from it. : The One Way ball check prevents the pressurized air in the pneumatic cylinder from venting back into the ball chamber. : Your finger tension is trying to move the cylinder shaft back down. It can only vent though the needle valve choke to the atmosphere.(barrel). By regulating the rate of flow through the needle valve, you regulate your rate of fire. : I don't believe anything in the Clippard Line will substitute for a Do It Yourself Response trigger. By the time you buy the parts and pay the shipping, you've spent MORE than the one you get from Tippman that WILL work and has a warranty.
