Regulator Thread Damage?

I use a Crossfire nitrogen with what I think is stainless steel threads. When I screw it in and out of my asa I will see a silver powder on the threads of the tank. I recently got a new asa when I bought a new drop forward and it could be the paint just wearing off of the threads in the asa since the powder is black as well. Could it be that the threads on the tank and the ones on the asa are different or is there a standard thread that manufacturers use? Thanks for taking time for reading this. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a remedy for it? I know I'm probably worrying too much but I don’t want the regulator on my tank to get damaged and fail the hydrotesting. Thanks in advance. |
