: Alas, the TV big wigs still have not learned anything about paintball. Last night (april 3) the new show Greg the Bunny incorporated a paintball game into the episodes climax. Not suprisingly, the players wore only shop goggles, never put in barrel plugs, shot each other at close range, removed their goggles during the game, and played unreffereed (I think thats how you spell it). This is not the worst part, however. At the beginning of the final paintball sequence, the field owner was acting a lot like the drill instructor from Full Metal Jacket (those of you who have not seen the movie should rent it, it's a good one). Anywho, he claimed "Some think paintballs do not peirce the skin, well they do. They leave painful welts and bruses." and "This is war." If that doesn't make us look like a bunch of paramilitary loonatics, I don't know what will. The climax of the paintball scene was the kicker. Three players (one of which had no goggles on) shot another player at a range no farther than 5 feet away about 100 times, leaving the player covered in paint. Then a player (who was already eliminated) came up to him and said, "We're dead," and passed out next to him. When is Fox in particular, and the media in general, going to figure out the rules of paintball so as not to portray us as a bunch of psychos? I think actual tournement paintball games need to be put back on TV so the public can get a real perspective of what paintball is like. : See ya in my crosshairs! : Steve
