No, the flat part faces the bolt - and has the most surface area for gluing to the bolt. The cupped part 'cups' the paintball when the bolt pushes forward, and then seals the chamber.

410 is different than regular superglue - it's black, thicker ('goopy'), and more shock-resistant. Did I mention expensive? ~$10 for a leetle tube.
