If you bought this marker new, and there's something about it you're not sure of (ie: something doesn't look right), contact the manufacturer! That's what warranties are for. It may be normal, but if it's not, and you try to fix it yourself, there goes your warranty. Call 'em, take it back to the shop where you bought it, etc...just don't try to fix it yourself if you don't have to.
