10% paint/barrel (that includes barrel cleanliness and paint quality
10% How comfortable the player is with their marker, how used to it they are, that they like the feel, things like that
10% air system consistency, if youre air system spikes like hell and those balls are comin out at different velocities then theyre not gonna be consistent enuff for you to hit sometimes
70% the obvious, personal player shooting skills. being able to hold the gun still and have ur hand free to make smooth consistent trigger pulls and not be jerking ur gun around.

The percentages could be altered from opinion but the last one is clearly the star of the movie and the others are supporting actors, if you cant hit anything with one gun, ur chances will only go up on another gun if ur able to throw alot more paint at it.... even then if you suck bad enuff no gun will help you.

I probably missed the original posters question entirely, i just felt like ranting
