I handle the guns all the time. So far the BL or GZ timmy's are coming out on top.

Pro's for the Timmy:easy to maintain and clean, shoots very accurate, ROF is good and easy to adjust the trigger, and has good effiency, 9v is all you need.
Con's:Don't mess with the board, if your not a tech don't mess with the board. LCD's can cause problems. Warrenty on the gun isn't like the Warped Sportz guns.

Pro's for the IR3:it has a good warrenty, you can do cool thing's to the LCD, ROF is good and easy to adjust the trigger (if you don't change the piviot point)

Con's:Accuracy isn't the same, Count on LCD problems, The "COPS" anti chop system SUCKS, most of the time players don't use it, Batteries dead too bad you have to charge it. Unless you are a tech (certified) Don't mess with the gun.

I recomend choosing a gun w/o an LCD on it. ie. GZ timmy's unless you want that feature. In my experience with equipment involving LCD's (gun's or Cell phones) that is the one thing that will most likely go wrong. Without going into detail I tech most Highend guns among other things.

Hope this will help.
