first question is usually: "what can i spend?"

angels/excalibers/totally custom cockers/etc for 1000+$ are usually wonderful guns.

...but do you need to spend turbo$$$ to be competitive?
NOT!
impulse/bushy's/intimidator-fast and cheap.
gen-x cocker/build-it-yourself-RIGHT cockers-cheap and accurate and no chops.
shocker/matrix- VERY accurate and cheap and no chops but gas hogs.
mags w/level ten mod, -mags i used to not recommend for tourny play due to choppage, -but now they can rock -if you can go level ten+ RT trigger+ nitro you can have a GREAT mechanical gun that won't chop and is super fast.

electro guns are wonderful, but when they break sometimes they are just unfixable, and anti-chop eyes can be problematic.

i really think that you can find a great tournament gun for +/- 600$
(most of guns above are under or about 600$)

: I am finally at the point to buy a new gun. I don't know which one to get. I've looked at a autococker, automag, etc... I still don't know which one to get. If anyone can shine some lite on why one is better then the other I would appericiate it very much.
