The trap door is a sliding/sealing door on the outside of the gun, when the gun fires it opens to allow a ball in and shuts quickly. From there the trigger opens the firing valve and it works like a blow gun, pushing the ball forward into and out of the barrel with a burst of air. It CAN chop still however. The trap door can shut on a ball and chop.
