: im planning on getting a minimag for a back up gun behind my bushmaster and i just wanted to run this buy you all for your opinions. so far i would like to run the minimag with a benchmark 2-finger frame, level 10 bolt, dye boomstick, some drop forward, and maybe a r/t valve. i friend of mine said something about a regulator by smart parts called the black box, or something like that. do you have any info on this? thanks.

Hey Dude,

These "black boxes" were made by SP. They mount on the right side of the Mags silver reg. The problem is that SP must mount it for you, and in order to that they must drill another hole in the reg, and that voids the original ADG warrenty.

They were made to be an additional area for gas to expand, thus creating a lower pressure, higher volume of air on the ball. It didn't really do much, and was designed primarily for use with CO2. Completely useless in my opinion, espoecially with everyone uising HPA anyway. Don't waste your time.

Jason
