: im gettin a new B2K abd I was wondering if you really need to get an adjutable tank or can I use a regular preset 850psi tank.

As I understand it, the new B2k comes with a redesigned HP regulator that permits the use of a fixed output tank. Actually the older B2Ks worked OK with a fixed output tank, but it significantly reduced the life of the gun's HP reg.

Aftermarket HP regs are a popular item on the Bushy. A good aftermarket reg is probably less money than the added cost of a good adjustable air system over a fixed system. I would go with the fixed air system; if the stock HP reg doesn't perform up to your expectations, you could then get an aftermarket reg. I run MacDev Gladiator on one on my Bushies, and an Air America Vigilante on the other. They both work fine. The Vigilante can be found on sale at pretty reasonable prices ($50 or so) from time to time. The Gladiator runs about $75.

One thing you don't hear much about, many adjustable air systems tend to require periodic maintenance to keep them running reliably(cleaning and lubing the tank's regulator internals-doesn't take much time but is necessary on some systems) while fixed output tanks require no regular maintenance (from my experience). Also, I never suffered any shootdown when I used a fixed system.

Regards,

Superannuated
