velocity i believe is low how do i fix.just got it

i have a green bm2k with a vigalante reg on it but when i went to shoot it balls didnt come out of the barrel. the balt moved back and forth freely. when a ball did fling out it must have only went like 20 feet or less. so how can i fix this
