:: The "generations" of Bushmasters aren't simple to follow, because Indian Creek Designs made some upgrades before updating the body milling. Also, the generation designations are unofficial, as ICD doesn't use the generation designations, which were started by the Bushy owners themselves.

However, to take a shot at this, the first generation has no milling, the second generation has the teardrop milling. The Bushies with the newer, more elaborate milling are third or fourth gen, I think (I don't know if people are talking about a 5th generation or not). The Bushy with the battery door on the right side of the gun will be a fourth generation or newer, I believe, and should have the newer milling. The real issue is that you want one with the battery door.
