I'm not aware of any major differences.
All you're doing is adjusting the tension on your mainspring. I haven't found this to be very useful on the M98, and end up using the venturi screw to adjust the velocity.

One thing to look for is a lock-down screw. Without this, the adjuster could back out of the gun, and then the mainspring would shoot out; that could ruin your day. Also, your velocity would be dropping.
