Hello,
If you find a way to quiet the m98C, that'd be great lol. Let me be one of the first to know. ; )

: After taking my 98 Custom apart, I was wondering
: about how the gun really worked. I see that many
: people have been posting about how you can put
: tape and other things in the 98 to "quiet" them
: down. I am not sure if I am the only one who
: is in the dark here, but the air chamber that
: pushes the bold back into cocked position is the
: culprit. Basically, Tippmann seemed to copy the
: action of many real guns, similating the blow-back
: gas that is used to re-cock a gun. Well, it seems
: that when the gas is shot out of the back of the
: valve into the bolt, the "pop" that you hear
: is caused by the bolt gasses coming out of
: the rear chamber when the seal in the rear chamber
: is let loose. This seal is an o-ring that is
: on the bolt itself, and opens when the bolt
: flys back. Fortunately, I am working on a way
: of getting rid of the whole mess...

: Dano.
