it's not the velocity, it's the paint/bore match. The stock barrel and the CP have different bore. The paint that matches the stock prolly doesn't match the CP. Therefor, your problem is your paint's all wrong. Find out the size of the CP barrel, and then find a paint with a bore near or on that. If you can only find the size (small/med/large bore) ask around or try out new paints. I for one, have a cocker with a dye boomstick. The boomstick is a small to medium bore barrel, I use a diablo with the same bore. Also, Diablo is a good paint, I highly recommend it. It's all I ever use. Hope I helped out a little bit.
