In Reply to: Expansion Chambers? Will they all work? posted by Bryan_ on April 23, 2002 at 21:20:04:

: I have the Tippman 98 custom expansion chamber. It is good but I was wondering if all expansion chambers work. Like the 32 degrees 6 stage. I have the verticle adapter in. So can I just screw another one in and connect the hose?
: Please give some suggestions

My M98 was one of the fastest non E-bolt Tippmans I had ever seen. I had a PB double-trigger, a rear cocking bolt, power feed, 12-volt revy w/x board and the clam-shells were polished on the inside. IT SHOT FAST! The problem, it shot so fast it went liquid before I was through with my first hopper full. I mean, it would freeze the gun, barrel, expansion chamber...everything. I thought the problem would have been solved when I installed the expansion chamber but it didn't. It just filled with CO2.

My suggestion is to get an anti-syphon installed in your CO2 tank w/ an on/off valve. It shouldn't cost more than $30 or $40. If you feel like spending some money, get yourself a Nitro tank with a regulator. With nitro you won't need an expansion chamber. With the anti-syphon, you may still need the expansion chamber.
