I am not a sniper, and shoot a 12" Bigshot, and understand longer will take more gas nand not improve efficiency or range, BUT i have heard the argument that witha long barrel your can hide behind cover, bushes tall grass etc. and just have yor barrel pointing out and be impossible to hit or see, if true sniping ( to shoot undetected )is your thing, then this might be n important factor.
