I think Tippmanns are so popular because they a a good reliable gun at a decent price. I think the upgrades are so popular because everyone can build it to what they want and their needs. It is more the person behind the gun than the gun itself. I personally would not play at tournys with a tippmann, others are better because of their smaller size and lighter weight. You can complain about makes and models of guns all you want but it will not get you anywere, just do you best with what you have and not.
