The 98 has more of a SMG feel to it while the Carbine has more of a rifl feel. I personaly would get the 98, mor up gradable. Also have you ever taken a look at the new A-5 from tippmann? It is sweet. They hope to have a lot of upgrades for it, like the flatline.
