I was once in your shoes. I had about the same price range and my two choices were the Tear Drop or a Dye Xcel. One of the local people at the field i go to (who now is on a amateur team) told me that when he started he had a M98 and a Dye Xcel barrel. After seeing him play and i was sure he knew what he was talking about. I have a Dye Xcel barrel and am very impressed with it. The acuracy is amazing if you have a good paint to barrel match. i have hit the same exact spot 50 feet away 5 times in a row. It also quites the gun alot. You can get it for $40 at paintballgear.com I have also heard good things about the tear drop but have not had any experience with it.
