I would have to say that a scope would be kind of a waste. The flat line is great for distance, but if you were ever considering speed ball, you might want to go another route. There are plenty of upgrades for the 98 Custom. My advice would be to use it for a while, and then upgrade the things you dont like. After using mine for a while I found it kinda long and unbalanced, so I got a drop forward. Next, I found that the accuracy wasn't that great so I got a Freak Jr barrel. My next upgrade will be to HPA to get better consistency. This is just my 0.02 and I hope it helps.
