the custom98 and model 987 have the same threading

if that link is to the barrel you bought than ive found your problem

see the end where it says "DYE_XCEL_Spyder_Barrel"

that would go to say that the barrel you bought has the threads for a spyder paintballgun


just to repeat my self the m98 and c98 have the same barrel threading

you may be able to get a (spyder to tippmann 98)
barrel adapter

its a lapco barrel adapter for spyder to tippy 98
