freak barrel system

i dont understand how a lil tube in a barrel can make it fit ure paint, like i understand, but wouldnt the tube have to go thru the whole barrel, please if anyone can give me info or knows of a website with alot of info on the freak barrel system i would like to know it. thank you for your help.
